A Personal Reflection on Father's Day
As I start to write this composition, I honestly don't know what to say here. Hmmm... Should I start by saying, "Happy Fathers' Day, Dad"? Or, "I love you, Dad and God bless you"?
Nonsense. First of all, Dad won't be seeing this post for the simple reason that he is never active in social media. Secondly, I don't have the courage to tell him those words personally anyway. Just what is the point of telling him those words through a medium that he doesn't even use - when I can't even tell them to him personally? Even if I try to do so, I would only hate myself for being such a foolish hypocritical liar.
Well, maybe the best that I can do is just tell the world how proud I am that I'm his son. As most of you who might be reading this already know, my repentance from my youthful sins was a fruit of my Dad's labor in prayer. He was the first man who instilled to me the value of living piously through prayer and meditation on the word of God. In fact, he's the one who taught me so many things that I currently know about the Scriptures. If it weren't for the example that he left me, I would probably be living a godless life today (well actually, who knows?).
Of course, he does have flaws - and I still do have some issues with him. To say the least, I almost no longer want to be a Christian because of those flaws that I saw in him (which maybe is the reason why I still feel awkward whenever I talk to him). But while I honestly can't confidently say that he's "the best Dad in the world", I'm thankful to God that He gave me to a father who is good enough for me.
