I believe that only those who do not know what life is should fear death.
 
First of all, if a person would only observe the diversities in life, he should be convinced that there is one God Who created it. This should cause him to have a conscientious feeling that he might be offending this God in any way. Therefore, he should seek to get right with God, not just to appease Him, but to fully turn to Him in gratitude of His grace and goodness. After all, this life and all the good pleasures in it came from God and its meaning can be found in Him alone; therefore, it is man's duty to obey God and his priviledge to enjoy God's goodness.
 
Secondly, if one really knows Who is this God that created this life – that He is merciful, loving, perfectly good and perfectly just yet forgiving, and that He made a way for sinners to be forgiven through the Cross – and have faith of Who really He is, he should recognize that death is only an open door for him to be with God in eternity. For this life and everything that we do in it is our preparation for whatever we will face in eternity.
