soldier boy

the memory of you with me
is driving me up the wall
a flashback
taunting me of what we had
but what will never be
your smell somehow lingers faintly
in my mind’s book
your blue eyes penetrating
right through my soul
haunting me to take another look
but those deep soulful eyes
will forever further elude me
for you can no longer see

action was what you wanted
and off to war you went
action made you feel at home
it claimed you for itself
not letting go
you went way to young
never to return
K.I.A is what they said
when you finally made your way back home…

homeward bound

Homeward bound
to where
my heart will be found
love draws me closer
nearer to life
to a heart beating
exuberantly
always moving
always traveling
away from the old me
to where
my heart now rests
where love and life plays
where the heartbeat
is not just my own…

fairytale

once upon a fairytale
where wishes all comes true
you had my heart
and I had yours
united in dreaming we were
Reality hit
scattered  our world
opening up
a crevice between us
not knowing how
to bridge this gap
I’ll go back
to what I once knew best
wishing and dreaming
so that
in our little fairytale
all our wishes and dreams
will still come true

land of milk and honey

land of milk and honey
keeps eluding me
choices that I have made
keeps me out of reach
trying on my own
a constant failing journey
but
when I submit
when I surrender
when I honor
and don’t murmur
then
the doors will open up
and
the land of milk and honey
will be mine

the promise

as he steps  in
her first urge is to step out
he looks at her
she wants to hide
tears streaming down her face

he still doesn’t get
exactly what he did
when he left
she  was all alone
had to fend for herself
while he was gone

he thought she’d gain insight
he thought she’d gain wisdom
but her heart was broken
she thought
he didn’t love her no more

but now he is back
standing so close
she feels his heart beating
rhythmically just for her
taking her in his arms
wiping the tears from her face

softly making a promise
kissing her hair
reassuring her
he’ll never leave her again
she’ll always come along
to help him stand tall

butterfly

a butterfly
flutters by
spreading love
along its way
giving hope
releasing peace
serenity
showing all is okay
balance found
love shows the way
moving onward
living exuberantly
a full life
remembered
as a butterfly
flutters by

my one day box

one day, if all goes well
one day, if all goes to plan
one day has become a box

where feelings & emotions go to rest
where dreams come out to play
where desires come alive

one day I’ll have you
one day I’ll call you  my own
one day we’ll travel
one day we’ll fly away
one day we’ll have kids
one day we’ll all play

all the things not yet ready for today
all the things not yet meant to happen
all those alongside dreams and desires

all these things
placed safely in the box called one day
where one day it will be opened
where one day it will happen
and all my dreams and desires will become reality…
