Poetry

land of milk and honey
keeps eluding me
choices that I have made
keeps me out of reach
trying on my own
a constant failing journey
but
when I submit
when I surrender
when I honor
and don’t murmur
then
the doors will open up
and
the land of milk and honey
will be mine
