I wonder who You are, Dear Friend
How many layers do I have to peel off
Until I can see Your face?
You can be childlike, with sparkling eyes,
Delighted with every little ray of sun
On early spring grass, not quite green yet
But tears come easily
With memories of past situations
Your proud soul tries to hide them
And claims to be shallow instead
You can be excited by the slightest promise of spring in the air
And at the same time cautious, a delicate mimosa
Shutting down quickly
Threatened by a gossamer touch of a gentle thought
You claim to be happy always, seeking lust only
Your smile an impenetrable fortress
But you have known true love
You are gentle and caring
And what else I wonder?
How many layers do I have to peel off
Until I can see your face, my Friend?
You never cease to amaze me
Sparkling crystal, blinding me with countless facets
You are this and that and something else
Then I find to my surprise
You can truly understand me
Such profound insight
From a person who seeks entertainment and fun only!
I might never see Your face, my Friend
And that is alright
For it is not for me to know
All I need to know in my heart is
That You make my life better
You lighten my days always
You make me smile and warm me with Your hugs
I might never see your face, my Friend
But I am honored to know You
And I will be there for You if You ever need me.

The River Sings of Coming Changes
Rushing By, Never Stops
Its Voice Piercing My Innermost Being
Murmuring of Loss and Love and Change
And Foreign Places to Go
The River Always Flows, Never Stays
While I Try to Hold on to an Impossible Dream
To Hold on to the Warm Heart of My True Soul Mate
Knowing Failure is Inevitable
Knowing This Heart Can Never Be Mine
Thankful for Wonderful Moments
Of Love and Hope and Shared Vision
Of Happiness Unknown Before I Met You
Before You Returned to Mother Earth
Time Flies, the River Flows
My Soul Mate Had to Return Home
Emptiness Swallows Me
Raven, 12 february 2012
I Send You Wildflowers and Birdsongs
And the Image Of Spring
When Nature Awakens Again
And We Will Meet Among the Scent of a New Beginning
We Will Listen to the Unique Sound of Our River
Will Remember Our First Kiss
Watch the Ducks Raising their Young
We Will Enjoy the Fresh Green Leaves
And the Golden Sunlight Dancing on the Water
We Will Feel the Chi of Spring and Bathe in it
You Will Kiss Me and Hold Me
We Will Remember Our First Kiss
Our First Hug
And That Two Gloves Always Have Been Enough for Us
I Will Tell You Again That You Had Won My Heart
The Moment You First Smiled at Me
I Will Tell You That I Was Already Yours
When We Met the First Time in this Park
I Will Tell You How Much I Love You
And That My Soul Cannot Be Without You
We Will Rest at the Little Bridge
Watch the Beauty Surrounding Us
And the Beauty Within Us
Raven, 6 january 2012
The Night is Nearly Gone
I lay Awake
Listening to Robins Morning Songs
Thinking of You
Missing You
My Heart is Full of Dreams and Memories
I Stare at Your Picture
Memorizing every Minute of Our Last Time Together
Wondering
Are You Awake, My Love?
Do You Feel the Touch of My
Longing for You?
Raven, 1 january 2012
To Wander Beneath the Stars
Hand In Hand,
To Sway In the Ocean
Arm in Arm,
To Be Cradled in Your Embrace On a Rainy Day,
To Walk the Woods at Sunrise,
Gras and Trees Adorned in Morning Dew
Like Millions of Diamonds sprinkled over the Earth
By Carefree Fairies,
To Watch the Birds Going South and Their Happy Return,
To Be Awestruck By Giant Sequoias and
Tiny Miracles in Sand and Water,
By Architecture of the Ancients,
And Wonders of Man Made Science,
To Feel Nature in Our Blood and Chi
And Hope for the Future,
To Be One with the Tao -
Sharing Life, Laughter, Tears of Joy and Sorrow -
One Heart, One Soul, One Spirit,
United In Love and Body and Mind
To Truly Be With You -
What Ecstasy!

I am Raven
I live in the Heart of the Forest
A Little Hut the only Shelter I Need
An Hermitage Shared with a Cat
And the Living Things in this Land
I Am Raven
My Name is Freedom
I Turn My Face to the Sky
Laughing out Loud
Dancing in the Moonlight
I Give My Devotion to Tree and Bark
Earth and Stars and all Life around me
To Creatures of the Dark
To Troll and Fairy
And the Mysteries of the Universe
I am Raven
I Belong to No One
That is My Inexcusable Crime
People's God Means Nothing to Me
Their Zealotry Disgusts Me
I Am a Free Woman
No Man Commands Me
I will Be Punished for My Solitude
My Long Hair
My Wild Spirit
My Pride and Independence
They Want Me Punished
For My Critical Mind
My Love of Nature
Even for My Cat
I Can hear them Rampaging
Through Bush and Shrub
Trampling Fragile Blossoms
And Everything in their Way
Destroyer of Civilizations
Book Burners, Barbarians,
Bringer of Dark Ages
Slayers of Everything Good and Decent
Undisturbed by Reason or Conscience,
Guided by Blind Faith
Driven By Fear and Fury
Breeding Intolerance and Hate
If they Have Such a Desire
To Be With Their God
Why Don’t They Go First?
I Am Raven
I Am Accused of Witchcraft
I Rotted Their Crops
I Ate their Children
I Took Their Men in Their Dreams
I Murdered Their Animals
With a Single Glance
My Evil Eye is Widely Feared!
If I Could Send Dark Spirits to Haunt Them
If I could Influence the Elements
And Call Lightning From the Skies
To Destroy Them
Wipe Them All Out
I Would Have Already Done So Long Ago!
I am Raven and I Will Die Tonight
But My Spirit Will Live On
My Ideas Will Survive
There Will Be Others
Searching for the Philosophers Stone
For Compassion and True Freedom
The Holy Oak Will Die With Me
In Her Hot Fire I Will Burn
We Will Unite
Our Ashes Will Blend
Our Souls Will Raise Together
As We Become One With the Earth
Giving Back What We Took in Order to Live
We Will Return Home

There Are Fallen Leaves Everywhere
Crying Out as I Walk Over Them
Springs Splendor Long Gone
Summers Fading Glory
Clinging to a Few Last Warm Days
Where Are You, My Love?
Loneliness Drove Me Here to Our River
And the Memories of Happy Times
Do You Think Of Me While You Are so Far Away?
Do You Feel Me Reaching Out to You?
Do You Remember Me?
In My Heart and Mind You Are By My Side
Again I Am Sitting Among Our Trees
They Are Bleeding Bright Yellow, Orange, Copper and Crimson
Proudly Showing Off Autumns Wedding Dresses
Squirrels Rustling Through Carpets of Pale Gold
Preparing For Hard Times
Snow White Ducks Watching Me With Cunning Eyes
This Park Is Closed During Dark Hours, the Sign Says
I Miss You So Much
I Watch the Leaves Traveling Downstream
Like Small Splashes of Blood
They Take My Hopes and Dreams with Them
Do They Ever Reach You?
I Watched the Seasons Come and Go
During this Year of Laughter and Tears
Of Deep Pain and Great Joy
Of Slow Dances and Fervent Poetry
A Year like No Other
Our First or Our Last, Who Could Tell?
I Thank You for the Time with You, My Love
Although I Am Alone
My Heart Still Sings When You Are Near
And My Soul Misses You
I Long For You As Always
And Still I Morn for the “Might Have Been”
Now the Leaves Are Falling Again
Rays of Sunshine Sparkling on the Water
Purple Flowers Spreading Their Children Everywhere
How Many Poems Did I Write About this Place?
I Touch the Reeling of the Bridge
Where You Placed Your Hand Months Ago
The Leaves Are Falling so Fast
I Want to Stop Them, Begging the Trees
To Please Hold On Just a Little Bit Longer
But I Have No Right and I Will Love Them
Barren and Naked Just As Much
Patiently Waiting For Their Return
How Many Dreams and Heartfelt Pleas
Did I Write On Their Leaves
Entrusting the River with My Souls Secrets
Accompanied Only By the Lonely Swan
He Too Is Waiting Here for a Love That Never Comes
No Matter How Long He Tries
Beautiful Lost Soul
Working So Hard All Summer Long
Caring For the Riverbank, Keeping Order
Always By Himself, Isolated
Elegant, Calm, a Picture of Forlorn Perfection
My Heart Aches for Him
Does He Fear Winters Cruel Touch as I Do?
This Park Is Closed During Dark Hours, the Sign Says
Who Will Listen to Us during Long Cold Days
I Cannot Write My Longing in the Snow
For People Will Read it
And They Are Not to Know
This Park Is Closed During Dark Hours, the Sign Says
But Not For Me, Not For the Swan
During My Darkest Hours It Was Open, Always
While Unforgiving Society Drove Us Apart
This Place Welcomed and Sheltered Us
You and I and the Lone Swan Are at Home Here

Him I Love from Afar
As We Float Along the Wave of Time
Rushing Us Onwards
Like Leaves in the Wind
We Dance to the Rhythm of the Tao
Loving, Quietly, Together in Our Own World
Where We are Free and at Peace
Where We Rest in Our Shared Soul
Him I Love from Afar
My Greatest Delight, My Deepest Joy
When We Walk Hand in Hand
Time Has No Meaning
Raven, 28 december 2011
Sitting by Our River in the Early Morning Light
The Sun is Bleeding Red and Gold
Into the Eastern Horizon
Where He Lives
I Write a Poem on a Maple Leaf
Talking of Love and Desire
I send you, Maple Leaf, on a Journey
To the Free World of my Dream
My Dream to Be with Him
Walking Alongside the River
I See My Poem Floating Down the Stream
Carrying My Longing
My Tears of Yearning Overflow my Heart
Only in Dreams can We Reunite
Will He Ever Find My Maple Leave
Adrift, Just like Me, Trying to Reach Him?
Fair Journey, Little Leave, Please Travel Fast
Tell Him I am Here by the River
Waiting
