Across a crowded room I felt you there
The power of your soul took me unaware
When I looked into your eyes of blue
All else disappeared, and all I saw was you
I smiled a sheepish grin and looked away
My heart of stone was melted to soft clay
When you spoke to me I must confess
That all I wanted was your sweet caress
I fought it from the moment that we met
But fate had overruled my strong protest
You breathed your lifeblood deep into my core
Making me desire and want you more
And so I let you in against my will
Now I find myself in longing for you still
For life I may have flowing in my veins
But empty arms are all that now remain
Consumed each waking hour with your face
Wanting for your touch and warm embrace
Loving you in dreams as I lay sleeping
Waking up alone my heart starts weeping
Moments together but a niche in time
A memory that's burned into my mind
Fate is an evil demon with its tease
And Love is but a wish upon a breeze.

She held her hands up
crying out in pain
While her teardrops mingled in
with falling rain
The blood stains on her dress
a crimson red
As she screamed out for her child
who lay there dead
But her agony was brushed aside
with ease
By those not easily taken in
by grief
Her screams were met with whispers
all around
As she fell in desperation
to the ground
Sweet innocence lay face down
in the dirt
While inside she felt her heart
ready to burst
Another child, lost tragically
to violence
And all they could console her with
was silence.

Warm wax like sweet honey dripped
And kissed her foot.
Beautiful Pale, a lifeless corpse
Lying on a bed of satin
Tender kisses, her lips he greets,
Soon his task will be complete
Fresh roses held by drying fingers,
The fragrance of sweet death lingers
Sculpting, molding to preserve her beauty,
He performs his ritual duty.
Lover's united soon in eternal bliss,
Forever, lying in a stony crypt.
Rejected proposal, no more an issue,
he wipes the excess wax with a tissue.
Life, cheated of Holy Matrimony,
Revenged by unholy necromony.
Warm wax, like sweet honey dripped,
And kissed her feet.
Beautiful Pale, a lifeless corpse,
Her transformation is complete.
Empty of breath, love consummated with
The intoxicatingly, sweet kiss of death.

Eeriness drifts with the mist that cloaks the sleeping earth.
Emptiness hangs in the air, like that, of childless birth.
A dreadful silence, deafening, your heartbeat only heard.
Except for sounds of fluttering wings and screeching of the bird.
A lonely Raven, black as death, sits upon a stone.
Bellowing his call of night that wakens sleeping bones.
Shadows rising in the black, gasping for a breath.
Phantoms wake and shivers quake with the chill of death.
A glowing moon creeps from the clouds, sending out a cold caress.
As creatures of the night arise and cast their silhouettes.
Throwing off their chains that bind, escaping crypts and tombs.
They dance upon the breeze, beneath the haunting moon.
On Hallows Eve, the ritual feast, they rise at midnight hour
Searching out the scent of blood, with longings to devour.
Beware to guard your soul this night, when moonlight beckons all.
As shadows rise with hungry eyes, to the sound of the Raven's call.

Pure decadence is in his smile
His eyes a piercing blue
His evil grin, hints of sin
And speaks a lustful truth.
Her lips are plump and luscious
Like berries from the vine.
She returns his evil grin,
As she sips her blood red wine.
He slips her clothes off with his eyes,
A public molestation.
He never speaks a word,
But he implies, he's near starvation
She gives the look, that all men know,
Caressing with her lashes.
She licks her lips with hot intent,
Nearly burning him to ashes
The heat between them so intense,
That if they were to touch,
Their skin would melt like butter,
In a smoldering metal cup.
Their gaze is long and lingers.
Passion, but a blazing flame,
Scorching to the bone
In this wicked , lustful game.
Enchanted demon lovers,
Testing out their powers.
To see which one will give in first,
The goal but to devour.
Though their bodies never touch,
The messages are clear.
Even if they never speak,
You can't help but overhear.
For with their eyes they've spoken,
Their flaming, hot desire.
And nothing, but surrender,
Will ever quench, this wicked fire.

Like a fragile wisp of smoke, a vapor thin
Underneath his door, she enters in.
She sprinkles sand into his sleeping eyes
Careful not to wake him with surprise.
With whispers in his ears, she does confess
That her intentions are no more, but to molest.
Planting in his dreams her deep intent
And that he has no choice but to consent.
Bound about the wrist with unseen chains
His blood begins to pump inside his veins.
She slithers neath his sheets just like a snake
Sending chills and shivers like a quake.
She slowly makes her way up to his thighs
The heat between the sheets begins to rise.
She breathes upon his neck with evil grin
Knowing fairly well it is a sin.
With wicked pleasure biting on the vein
She sucks him dry til nothing does remain
When she's had her fill, she wipes her lips
And licks her fingertips, so nothing precious drips.
Loosening the chains that bind his hands
She leaves her kiss upon him like a brand
And like a fragile wisp of smoke, a vapor thin
She disappears the way she entered in.

The old lady Marcum was eighty years old,
When they laid her old bones in the ground.
And the church bell tolled at the local town church.
But, the whispers flew all over town.
The rumors about her, it had often been whispered,
She was more, than what first met the eye.
The feeble old woman was strong in her mind.
She could hex you and you might even die.
She lived all alone in a small wood framed home,
That sat near the edge of the wood.
She lived there in squaller, in the heart of a holler
And folks thought, she was up to no good.
She grew her own herbs and seemed somewhat disturbed,
When strangers would wander nearby.
And they say, if you spoke in a manner displeasing,
You'd be cursed by the look in her eye.
On the day of her death, no one seemed to bereft
And the funeral was sad at the least.
For not one single person, would pay their respects.
Nobody, that is, but the priest.
He prayed blessings upon her and peace for her soul.
Then he placed a white rose on her grave.
And a silent tear welled and then rolled down his cheek,
For he knew the huge price she had payed.
He'd once loved the old lady, when beauty she bore.
As children they'd grown up as friends.
And he'd told her, he'd love her, for all of his life.
But, his promise was lost in the winds.
He'd join up with the priesthood in service to God.
A decision that shattered her essence.
She never once married and lonely she lived.
A hermit and strange convalescent.
And all those who thought that they knew who she was,
Went on with their life without care.
The thought never occurring, that he and the lady,
Had once loved in a secret affair.
She'd never since spoken of her love for the priest,
Or the day that he'd left her alone.
She'd carried her secret til death, in her heart.
Buried deep now and marked with a stone.

Bitter and biting the winter wind blows.
Grey clouds hang heavy, laden with snow.
The leaves have all fallen, brittle and brown,
A warm blanket of death, now covers the ground.
The naked trees shiver with ice on their tips
Where ice cycles hang and cold water drips
The birds are now quiet with cold winter's hush
The autumn rain puddles are now pools of mush.
The dew drops are frozen like petals of glass
Waiting for the warmth of the sun on the grass
The fire light crackles, it's embers glow red
And I'm wrapped in a blanket from toe to my head
And as the wind whistles a tune thru the trees
And the winter raindrops freeze to snow in the breeze
I think of you now and wish you were here
And the frost on my heart melts into warm tears.

I lay here in darkness and think of your face,
Lost time now so distant, your sweet kiss I still taste.
Once we were young lovers with wishes and dreams,
Torn from each others arms with curses and screams.
Dragged away in confusion, threatened with lies.
Fear placed in our minds, tears branded our eyes.
Convinced it was wrong, that we weren't meant to be
Though we knew in our hearts, still no one could see.
Yet time after time, our life paths have since crossed.
And we feel it each time, that one hope, never lost.
And over and over we've buried the truth,
Dying to self and the passions of youth.
We moved on in silence, ignoring our dreams,
Exploring new paths, chasing wishes down streams.
Always searching for love in the arms of another,
To do what seemed right, the truth we would smother.
Our life's obligations always stepping in,
Denying love's flame like a dark dirty sin.
We blamed it on fate and how life is unfair.
Our love always forbidden, a curse we both share.
Our lives always entrusted to somebody else,
Except for one truth we hold secret to self.
Other love never blossoms or blooms very long.
Choked out by the secrets we whisper in poems.
Now we lie in our beds each night in the dark,
We weep silent tears from our sad longing hearts.
Remembering promises made long ago.
That our love was forever and we'd never let go.
Still here we are, our love we deny
And we worry that truth will reflect in our eyes.
Though love is a beautiful, passionate thing,
Merciless heartbreak and pain with it brings.
For the break of the curse lies in using truth's knife
The heart of another must first be sacrificed.
And no matter the choice or the path that we take
First we must decide, which heart we will break.
How does someone choose, when the last chance they see,
Means they must shed the blood of a heart to be free?
What is right? What is wrong? Which choice is the worst,
Betray trust with a truth, or live lies with a curse?
