There’s good and bad wherever we may happen to go
and is a fact of life here in this world all should know.

A river implodes!
Mist from the smoke that thunders
suckles soft seedlings.
David de la Croes, 24 june 2013
When I found you
you were like a plant
trampled in the mud
of your tears.
I picked you up
and replanted you
in the garden
of my love.
And I let my sun
shine on you
and my rain
nourish you.
And I watched you heal
and grow, and flowered...
Now I cannot stop
looking at you -
you are the most
beautiful thing
I've ever seen.
David de la Croes, 24 june 2013
You are the newest thread
in the tapestry of my life -
once neatly-patterned,
but now criss-crossed
and sig-zagged
with the vibrant strands
of your sister.
You, too, will be interwoven
into the fabric of my life
and be interlaced through
its brightness and hues
and be intricately entwined
and securely knotted
with one golden thread -
Love.
David de la Croes, 24 june 2013
Lime-scented orchard
flavours our luscious kisses
while gentle rain falls.
Love's salutation
awakens fervent longings -
desire cascades.
Gert Strydom, 24 june 2013
With a pair of compasses and a ruler
in mathematics almost the impossible is realised.
In mathematical quadrature
the structure of a flame,
even of a rose leave is captured
wherever we want to hang them
as mathematical equations in practical mechanics
where we draw contours as if they are elastic
while we do avoid real impossibilities
and try to fit everything into squares.
Gert Strydom, 24 june 2013
Now suddenly there are dinosaurs appearing,
and they do tread deep tracks and bite with their jaws
before they disappear again in the distance
and immediately you can realise the impossibility of this.
Even when people do say that dodo’s are appearing everywhere
and that they are walking through the woods,
then it becomes a great experience
but in the proof of it
a great lie is exposed.
It’s impossible (however you do try)
to only with a pair of compasses and ruler
construct an identical area
than that of a given circle
and so I can take this view further
as something containing impossibility.
Satish Verma, 24 june 2013
Effortlessly a desire erects
a monument. One flaw
demolishes the image. Stones,
ugly grass & a solitary tree
make the landscape.
Hundreds of seeds go back
to the earth's womb, never
to sprout. Heartbroken
I stand in the middle
of life, crumbling alone.
How can we change?
A splash of green
ingests a scissor,
that is not enough. A parallel tragedy
strikes. Sun and flowers
are gone, seeking a truth,
not yet conceived. A timeless
fire burns in the temple,
uncovering the heat,
edging towards us.
Freedom from long falls comes,
bit by bit in degrees.
Suffering remains the same.
We immortalize our smears.
The absolute truth
suddenly becomes a lie.
A myth which balooned
our minds. But brutal
sunlight has seasonal priorities.

Devon McElveen, 23 june 2013
We are brought to believe that all history is true.
What is it that we are not seeing?
Why must we inscribe these falsehoods?
When will we remove these pages?
When will we shift from our naive ways
Worrying only of the present and future
While we forget the poorly forged pages of time.
What if we could change this past
Whilst building an ever growing future.
Will we, one day, be able to do so?
Devon McElveen, 23 june 2013
As humans we are unique.
Unique within our features.
Our bodies, minds and souls
Indeed unique creatures.
What is it that occurs
Once we lose sense of self?
In time we lose humanity,
That can not be helped.
Our minds and bodies,
Temporary parts.
Because it is our souls
That prepare for a new start.
