Poem: Armor of God

Clothe yourself in the full armor of God
and be able to withstand the Devil’s schemes;
know that he’s only the father of lies,
looking to destroy your earthly dreams.

Cover yourself with Christ’s Breastplate
of Righteousness and protect your torn heart;
your essence has been purchased for His Kingdom,
meaning that you’re meant… to be set apart.

Gird your waist with the Belt of Truth
and stand firm with integrity and honesty;
don’t allow your flesh’s nature to interfere
with conditions that you need observe and see.

Shod your feet with the Gospel’s peace;
keep from searching for earthly trouble;
instead congregate with the Body of Christ
and focus on your faith becoming redoubled.

The ongoing battle is not with flesh and blood;
wield Faith’s Shield to quench life’s fiery darts.
Remember that the wiles of Satan are limited!
So outmaneuver him with your spiritual smarts.

Put on your Helmet of Salvation,
for the battles are within one’s mind.
Allow the Divine knowledge of The Word
to resonate with your spirit and find…

yourself continually praying in the spirit
and with understanding on all occasions.
Be alert to His transformational messages,
for upholding Godly principles and persuasions.

Resist the Devil now and he will flee;
endeavor to thwart the enemy’s attack;
be strong in the Lord with power of His might;
promises of victory have been already stacked.

For we don’t wage war with human methods and plans.
We use mighty weapons to knock down evil strongholds
and breakdown every proud argument that keeps people
from knowing God… as His Kingdom, continues to unfold.

Poem: Come, See This Man

It started out, as an ordinary day,
with a daily trip… to the local well;
without much expectation, I met a Man
from a small town, located in Israel.

Come, see this Man…

Well, I must admit, He was the first
to observe me as a Child of Abraham;
knocking down my personal defenses
was Christ, the Son of the Great I Am.

Come, see this Man…

He spoke with both grace and intimacy,
and soon I was fully revealed before Him;
He demonstrated that I can always find joy
within an existence, that is tedious and grim.

Come, see this Man…

He freely offered me Living Waters,
that would satisfy my longing thirst;
my spirit was surprisingly touched
with the wisdom that He easily dispersed.

Come, see this Man…

Our conversation was incredibly amazing,
for I can barely express what He said,
for the words of Love He softly uttered,
profoundly touched both my heart and head.

Come, see this Man…

Without earthly disdain and unwanted judgment,
He completely quenched the dryness in me;
I’m sure that He can offer you similar results,
but you must now go for yourself and see.

Come, see this Man… while He still can be found!

There is a time

There is a time that I am surrounded by bliss
when in the late afternoon you lie in my arms,
when the last rays of the sun peep in,
when I feel your breath against me
and then I do know how deep love is.

With you that do love me

With you that do love me
I do not know what to expect
and without you I will miss my whole life
and you are in every night and day.
Now that it’s already becoming late summer
there are the most beautiful flowers that bloom,
and the years that do remain are coming too quickly to their end
when my whole life comes to fulfilment.
Continually you do bring sunshine
and you give me an urge to live,
while you bring the joys of happiness and pain
when I do really know the depths of love
and I wonder how long this summer will last
before our days grow faint with the winter.

At times I think of that summer (cavatina)

At times I think of that summer with you,
with affection
about how very happy we were then.
Recollection
brings me back to a time now forgotten,
a connection
had formed between us, some call it love,
it is something that no one can remove.

TABLEAU

Again I scare myself
of the very thing.
Moon was landing on lake
for inward probe.

One presaged silence,
speaks, of the veracity of lovers
to grass, where no dropp drives a sun,
the red bricks build a shade.

Ragweed in a daisy field:
Ambrosia, I will not taste you
till the rainbow sits
in the meadow.

Round eyes
keep the dawn hidden /
under the lashes, sleep my saint
for a while, door was waiting for a knock.

Red Sun 2

Mother Earth stirs, awakes
and flips her cozy blanket,
causing frenzied specks of dust
to distort sunlight.

Red Sun

The night flips over to day
like a book's slow-turning page
and the dust caused by motion
turns light waves to red.

There is a mystery in the intricate way that nature works

There is a mystery in the secret magic
and intricate way of how nature works
and in a almost barren semi-desert
a water-pan becomes an object of survival
and a natural wonder of the world
when it makes the difference between
life and a thirsty death
and although a pan might be largely dried up
a little bit of water attracts
wildebeest and zebra
and the predators like the lions,
hyenas, jackals and wild dogs
that does follow them.

Ants burrow lime up from beneath the earth
which attract the big game to salt licks
and the buffalo, eland, gemsbok, kudu,
wildebeest, impala and springbuck
churn up the earth
as they do create
a small muddy hollow.

Later a small shallow salt pool appears
which the game uses for wallowing and drinking
and when the heavy seasonal rain comes
the rain swells the salt pool to a larger pan
where some more game wallow, drink
and carry some of the mud away.

With the passing of time
the pan becomes a larger lake
that is not more than a few meters deep
where a myriad of game
and predators gather
in the eternal struggle for survival.

The coming of the rain

In the early spring the signs are everywhere
before the rain comes after the winter
and the birds twitter and frolic around
while thousands of ants swarm on the ground
when the first flashes appear over the horizon
and here and there the sun disappear behind clouds
when the rain lilies suddenly open to flower
and for moments all of nature is astounded

as the rain brings new life to the dried out earth
and of her coming
all of the animals bear a kind of knowledge
and in the wild the wildebeest and zebras gather
where they tipple and gambol and turn skew
as they open there noses to the wind
to try and find the first signs of the rain
as the coming of the rain is sure
and joy is everywhere in the veldt and wilderness

and the grains of sand jumps up
when the first drops of rain does fall,
when the thunder explodes blue-white much nearer
and you can smell the joy of the wet earth
and even some of the wild flowers are blooming
and it’s as if everything is holding their breath
before a rainbow hangs high in the blue
and God smiles over the earth and the universe
and the rain pours down over the meadow and the dale.
