THE END

Lines on forehead are deepening.
No signs of abatement
of fire in our bellies.

The hunger we inherited
is only comforting
the mouthless.

Broken laughs.
Strange bedfellows
chopping off the murals from the lips.

A body rots,
stinks.
Maggots fly.

Negotiations are still on.
Who will dissect the legend
to find the cause of death?

Like a clay model, a soldier breaks.

The old pastor

Just like doctors did do at a time
he visits people,
sometimes into the late hours of the night
and although he serves the word of God

he tries to help them
to get their marriages happy again,
he hear the complaints and sorrows
of people that have lost children, companions
and even parents to death

tries to find answers
where none does exist, in the struggle of man,
he searches for deeper meaning
and when he stands behind the pulpit
and rises his eyes to heaven

a person does hear, does experience
the fragile human being
which that old man has become
and you are aware of his brokenness

until the voice of God
starts speaking right through him
when he leaves people
in the tranquillity of God’s eternal and wide love.

DESTINY

Nomadic moon was roaming
in the maddened fear of night.
A wordless journey in silent dark.

Betonica
for a painless being,
sustains the blues of separation.

An inverted green
puts the roots upward
to send a message.

Fear breaks the bones
to mould the claws.
There was no oblique answer.

Nobody was blameless.

Poem: Eternal Embrace

How can I not be full of contentment?
God is not a Man, that He would lie.
On a daily basis, His promises flow;
He is the Source, on Whom I can rely.

Despite the surrounding difficulties,
I’ve purposed to accept His sacred Word;
therefore, I will continue to stand firm,
by His grace and loving messages heard.

His everlasting mercies are renewed;
I remain girded by His faithfulness!
With the thankfulness of my frail heart,
I am still unable to wholly express…

the articulation of proper gratitude.
With empty hands, raised over my head,
I bow my heart in humble reverence,
while the grace of the scarlet thread

reminds me of the thankfulness I need.
Until the day that we are face-to-face,
I await with righteous anticipation
of being held by His eternal embrace.

Daga-e Mohabbat

Yu to har lamho ko sanwara tha is kadar,
Kamyab zindagi ko magmoom kar gaya koi.

Usne ijhare mohabbat kiya hi kyu tha,
Is alam me mujhe posidah kar gaya koi.

Tumne to use chand se umdah samjha hamesha,
Is chand si roshni ko bhi gamgin kar gaya koi.

Tumne badi zafukash se bhula diya us manjar ko,
sabik us chiragah me magloob kar gaya koi.

Sabar rakhne walo ko manjil dikha de ya rab,
sare jahan me ye dua kar gaya koi.

Bewafa e mohabbat

bewafa naam hai mohabbat me chod jane ka,
kyu intezar ab bhi itna hai uske aane ka.

wo gayi to meri duniya khilawat sa ho gaya
or khilawat kar diya is duniya me mere ashiyane ka.

Anshu

Aaghaz mohabbat ka ek daur aisa tha
Farsh pe thamte nahi the kadam uske

Mila sila muhabbat me judai ka to
Anjam ki surat dekh tham gaye faham uska

Aabae talkh

Aabae talkh ko seene se lagane wale
Be aabru me aane ka intezar to kar

Bana lete hai zindagi ka tabiyat ise
Bad anzam ki ghadi ka intezar to kar

Akelapan

Fakhar karta hai khud pe fighar karke akelapan
Bahein filaye baitha hai firaq me akelapan

Har simt gulshan me bhi hamesha akela hi raha
Saaye ki tarah lipta hai har waqt akelapan

Main chal raha tha bheed me tanhai ko soch soch kar
Awaaz de raha tha har shay me akelapan

Furkat ko dekh dekh kar khush hota hai wo har ghadi
Fitrat se aa baitha hai mere daman me akelapan

Khushi ka talab kiya to kismat bhi saath chhod diya
Wo le gaya khushi ka pal or de gaya akelapan

When the moon rises in the concrete jungle

When the moon rises in the concrete jungle
she notices how bare, how stripped
the park is in the early winter

and she becomes aware of the chill
that does not only pierce through her body
but is freezing her whole life.

She notices the moon that is white
as if the rays of it
are unreachable and bleak

and in the distance there are lights
that is beckoning all of the time
that twinkle
like the decorations of a Christmas tree,

which reminds her of a world
where people gambol and cavort,
reminds her of the tinned pleasure
that only lasts for moments

and the price of it
comes with the pain of AIDS,
does penetrate with painful claws
for days, weeks, months and sometimes years
bringing you staggering
to where you can go no further.
