Beauties Disguises

beauty is just a disguise to hide the soul inside,

whether pretty or drained out,

you'll never know how beautiful some one really is
unless they open there hearts and let you in,

looks is not what beauty is all about,

only love can declare whats beautiful,

the soul of a human being with a spirit that smiles,

someone who doesnt show hate and gives to others with a love so strong,

That is beauty all in its own.

Mary Am - this is a very good poem. One you could print out and have hanging on the wall. English is a difficult language though. For example "weather" speaks of rain or snow, but "whether" (with an "h" and no "a") is as a "choice between two alternatives" which is what your poem speaks of - so if you will permit me, here is your poem with a few corrections... --- Beauty's Disguise Beauty is just a disguise to hide the soul inside. Whether pretty or drained out you'll never know how beautiful someone really is unless they open their hearts to let you in. The appearance is not what beauty is all about. Only love can declare what is beautiful: ...the soul of a human being with a spirit that smiles, ...someone who doesn't show hate and gives to others with a love that's strong. That is beauty all in its own. --- Again, a very nice, beautiful poem. I've always believed that there are two types of people in the world - those who think only of themselves (pride/greed/selfishness) and those who think of others (love/understanding/empathy). Your poem defines this and that's why I like it. ~louis
