Not Always True

The early bird gets the worm
isn’t always true
What if the worm, who could barely squirm 
was hiding under a shoe? 

What then? the bird
who couldn't have known
about that worm underneath the shoe
wouldn’t have, couldn’t have
gotten the worm 
and simply would’ve flew

It would be too late for that bird
And thanks to the worm under the shoe
He would realize
that the early bird gets the worm
isn’t always true
