I know that people with a cold, hard heart, with no compassion or empathy for others, are never hurt emotionally...

I know that people with a warm, soft heart, with compassion and empathy for others, hurt when they see others in pain...

And I know that people with a very warm, soft and caring heart, who have great compassion, empathy and love for others (my mom comes to mind), REALLY hurt when they see others in pain and hurting... especially when they don't have the means or ability to help.  Maybe they think that if they hurt more, the other person might hurt less?

For GOD so loved the world...  I wonder sometimes how much HE hurts...
