Friends 2

The enduring love of faithful friends
is my shield against the false pretense
of those who laugh and smile with me
but through their actions, subtlely
have in their hearts abandoned me.

Hi Jaro, thanks for comment. I checked the word extensively before I insert it into the poem, as I also was unsure. "Subtlety" (noun) is the quality or state of being subtle. "Subtlely (adverb) is an alternative spelling of subtly. (see http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/subtlely )
