Sonnet I

The front door glows with incandescent tunes,
I watch from afar the hut burns to coal
and walk down the beach over ev'ning dunes,
I've cleared the past but I keep what I stole.
Though the rose faded in the vase last year,
Your smile never will, it keeps me steady
Lean close, hold my hand and i'll hold you dear,
I won't move on from you till I'm ready.
The heart on a chain, something you kept close,
You found it someplace, said it needs a home
Wore it when you played songs that comatose,
I think I still see you in the sea foam.
I wrote this for you but you won't read it,
So it's at your shrine where candles are lit.

The Garden Eternal

Reach deep,
but don't you forget the way,
Take risks
to find what it is you crave,
If you want to know purpose

How do you think you'll make it up?
Crossing paths with ghosts you know
Step light or the past will loop
That's the way the spiral goes.

The vines claim another realm,But the recoil doesn't seem
as real to you
It'll bind your mind so tight
Your soul will devour, making
a meal of you

You wanted to reflect more
But you should have known better,
Delve too deep and you'll regret
knowing, now, you're the debtor

How d'you think you'll make it up?
Crossing paths with ghosts you know
Step lightly lest the past loops
That's the way the spiral goes.

The undergrowth seeps, and the
path has now disappeared.
Just don't lose your bearings here
The Garden Eternal
This much I feared.

The Garden Eternal.
This much I feared.
The gates were locked years ago
The way back home overgrown,
you'll never get back like that.
