I thought all things would fade to black
I thought this world had turned its back
I thought the rain was God’s falling tears
I thought we were all monsters creating fear
I thought our hearts were created blind
I thought freedom was a drug induced mind
I thought happiness was an emotion we fake
I thought a good heart wasn’t meant to break
