Poetry

The years I have mislaid,
The personal cost, I ultimately paid.
Children, I could have had.
Opportunities, countless missed.
Cannot imagine the loss.
Time, love and money lost.

I found a girl I who I could love.
Not knowing, if she'd rescue me,
from my constant drowining.
Could make me smile, instead of frowning.

Or could she be another opportunity, lost.
