That you are a wonderful and beautiful woman

(in answer to T.T. Cloete)

We loved each other
from the day that we met
and that you are a wonderful and pretty woman
your admirers do not have to tell me
and I am not blind
for the glances that follow you
while you still do stay true

and that a husband and wife
can love each other intimately
without distinction between husband and wife
is certainly the greatest kind of nonsense.

I do thank God
that He has created you as a wife for me

and still I do know that love
goes much further and deeper than just passion
and when old age comes
I still want to embrace you
and know about your beauty.
