His Eyes

His eyes shine, like heavenly stars
twinkling dreams, plucked from the sky
yet so far away for I to capture.

Eyes deep, like wishing wells
flooding my heart with emotion
once thought to be froze.

His eyes dark, like ink spilled on paper
writing messages on my mind
while analyzing the chapters.

Eyes dancing, like fire wildly
burning threw my body
taking glimpses at my soul.

His eyes sing, like music to my ears
songs of passion and lust
enchanted lullabies make me a mistress.

Eyes speaking, like water to my body
quenching my thirst for pleasure
still salt water and nothing more.

1:50 am

Time ticks away
though the ridged hands
seem to fight the urge
minutes slowly disappear.

Amongst the dark
silently counting life
my body lays still
breathing in rhythm.

Mind drifting in-between
reality and dreams
blurring all the lines
deprived of sleep.

Our Own Worlds

You live in your head
this world all your own.
Where you create
beauty out of misery.

I too have a world
all my own.
Where I create nothing
for fear of imperfection.

You dream beyond
the norm of dreams.
Of fortune and fame
things your soul craves.

I dream simple
family, children, love.
For I have spent to long
living in my head.

Untitled

Bible lying open
rosary in my hand
reading the passages
trying hard to understand.

God loved the world so much
that he gave his only begotten son
if I believe hard enough
my end won’t really come.

I will go to heaven
live in paradise
happiness will be everlasting
that will be my prize.

For being a good little girl
saying  my prayers before I sleep
knowing he will forgive me
that my soul he will keep.

Grandma

A Grandmother's love is easy to find,
a kind of gift never left behind.
The cause of the joy we all share,
is her kindness, love, and care.
She is always doing her part,
no one has a bigger heart.
She truly is a gift to us all,
there to catch us when we fall.
No matter how bad things got,
she was there and that meant a lot.
So now I'd like to take the time to say,
Thank You, Grandma, In Every Way.

Six Important Letters…

To my love, who inspires my dreams,
and my children with faces that gleam.
You share with God, dwellings of my soul
for without you, life wouldn’t be whole.

To my brothers, the crazy three,
babies to me you’ll always be.
No matter how far we shall part,
know always you reside in my heart.

To grandparents, raising me as their own,
made sure I felt like I was home.
All the others that gave a helping hand,
thanks for the foundation to stand.

To my parents, now far apart,
remember, passion gave my journey a start.
Hold on to it, let yourself love,
a little wisdom sent from above.

To all the others, to many to name,
who’ve gone, changed, or remained.
No surprise here, you should know,
you too have helped me love and grow.

To myself, the lucky one,
cherish your loved ones before their gone.
Hold them close, never let them go,
life’s over before you know.

Frozen

I remember mimicking lines
curves of this statue
in a courtyard at school.
knew not of the artist
who sculpted this beauty
nor could I tell you
the women waiting patiently
sitting frozen in a moment
simplicity in stone.
Though I tried to create
my version from artist vision
using charcoal, lines begin
running along paper
to invoke a feeling
of a moment I felt
I was the woman
frozen in time waiting
patiently for someone
to break the outer shell
freeing me from the binds
keeping me captive so long.

Missing You

I love you more than anything
nothing could change the way I feel
my life seems so empty without you
and my world so unreal.

I remember how it was before
hope, happiness, pain, and heartache
the things that we’ve been through
sometimes more than I could take.

But in the end I realized
when all was said and done
if asked to do it over again
I would start back where it begun.

Not a day goes by that
I don’t want you here with me
can’t wait to hold in my arms
how lovely things used to be.

When I dream about the future
what do you think I see?
A future full of love and happiness
I see you sharing it all with me.

Letter to God

Why are we born?
Why do we die?
Why do we laugh?
Why do we cry?
Why are there no answers?
To life’s little questions?
Why don’t you God?
Give any explanations?

Why is there guilt?
Why is there shame?
Why is there joy?
Why is there pain?
Why do we have heaven?
Why do we have hell?
Does anyone know?
Will anyone tell?

Why is there the rich?
Why is there the poor?
Why do some get little?
And some get more?
Why is there love?
Why is there hate?
Why is there no time?
Are we all too late?

Why do things end up the way they do?
Hey God, I’m asking you?

Blooming Love

Running my fingertips
up his spine
dancing in the passion
as our bodies intertwine.
One with our emotions
gazing in his eyes
wrapped in a moment
feeling love not lies.
Hopeful for the future
letting go of our past
real love blooming
praying it will last.
