Oh look how far the might have fallen,
look how far my idols descend.
Crumbled down from my pedestals again,
all my heroes and models and “friends”.
 
Oh look how far I have fallen again,
buried once more in the dust –
the wake of my hands’ “glorious” work,
drowning in choking despair.
 
How am I still acceptable to Thee?
Why do You not turn and run?
This mercy I still do not understand,
This mercy I long for again…
