A Bird and The Human

There is this bird. The tenants of an apartment across the street have bought it few days back. I cannot clearly see the bird as it is housed on the third floor and my vision is hindered by the height and the protective grates of the veranda.
The bird cries day and night. Although it does not sing and has a harsh voice, its pained screams seem to have a melancholy tone to them. Imprisoned within a cage of merely three cubic feet, the icon of freedom wails with a voice that rends the sky of Almighty God. A creation which was meant to be free in the bosom of Mother Nature has become a plaything, a mere tool of decoration for humans.
I find it highly hypocritical of humans, that they shout their hearts out for freedom. They call themselves freemen and advocate freedom all over the world. They do not want to be chained. They hate being under anybody's control. They fight and die for freedom's cause. They promote the notion of freedom all around. Media is overloaded with the words of freedom. And yet, sadly enough humans are the greatest enemies of freedom.
Animals that are not intelligent enough to evade the human entrapments are seen chained and imprisoned everywhere. For their own pleasure humans have the heart to destroy the freedom of birds. Just because the bird looks so beautiful or has so many beautiful traits, it becomes an object of possession. Humans never think that a bird also has its family, it has its life, it has its own society and unlike humans it is not meant to socialize in a house of four walls. They just catch the birds because they can be sold and possessed.
I feel sorry for the birds and the animals that have become estranged from their family as the result of human selfishness.
