FORGOTTEN MEMORIES

So many things went by
As the time passed by
We moved to different directions
In search of our perfections.

I moved a step ahead
You left my one hand
You took a next step
I left your other hand.

In this way we moved along
Looking for our own song
Never realized what we did
We planted that magic seed.

By the time a plant came out
We had already broken up
It was waiting for its owner
We had lost our phone numbers.

Every time our phones ring
All the empty calls we pick
We look at that snapshot
And cry for the broken pot.

Somewhere in the middle
Comes the life’s riddle
We pretend to be pleased
Our emotions remain unreleased.

Never thought the way it would be
Always imagined how it should be
Walking with heavy eyes
And a heart full cries.

Anyhow we accommodate a fake smile
On our faces that goes on for a while
Returning to those days in mind
We forget all the pain inside.

We still want to see
Our hearts to be free
Yet waiting for one another
Apologies that come one after the other.

Some things remain incomplete
No matter how long it has been
Or someday they might get complete
No matter how far you’ve been.

MY IMPERFECTIONS

I can’t help the way I am
You have to accept me as I am
I admit I am not perfect
Oh! My imperfection, I love it.

Trying to change me
Don’t you dare
I come with a warning label
‘Handle me with care’.

Sometimes I tend to lose my discretion
Also, I drown in deep depression
I know I act like a child
Why do you care? After all it’s my life!

I don’t want to be a duplication
I am happy being a treasure of imperfections
I have my own way of living
If you can’t get it, you don’t fit in.

BARRICADED LAND

Where have those days gone?

Those days of ecstasy

When the wind had melody

And the trees had chirpings.

Those trees still seem to call me

They call me in a world left barricaded

Those voices echo in my ears

They leave me deaf at times.

That stone is still on my mind

Over which we had fought for the first time

Still remember that cliff and grass

Used to stand there till fifth class.

I always knew things would change

But never thought they would disappear

No road remained, no memory has changed

Can’t figure out what has brought this change.

BROKEN TRUST

It was 3am in the morning
She woke up at the sound of shout
Again her parents were fighting
She was just five years old to understand this.

Tears were rushing through her brown eyes
Her parents had no time to see this
Her heart was buried under the ground
She was so used to this horrified sound.

Her father turned and walked away
Daughter and mother in silent dismay
Careless father lost her careful daughter
He got drunk and never returned.

That little girl has now turned sixteen
But she couldn’t forget that heart aching scene
She hates her father for what he did
He only ran away from responsibility.

From then she hates every guy
Who comes her way
She’s afraid to take any chance
Her trust had been broken once.

LOST HEAVEN

A beautiful heaven
Is covered with snow
All the glow is hidden
And is disappearing with the flow.

No ray of sunshine
Not even on the border line
It has become a lost treasure
Which was once somebody’s pleasure.

Time is taking it away
I’m unable to make my way
A part of my heart is hidden there
I’m afraid it would be lost there.

How to break the bond of time
How to make the things unwind
Leading to my heart erosion
And the locked devil of time to reopen.

UNSAID GOOGBYE

I don’t bother you anymore
Your eyes don’t distract me some more
I don’t irritate you like before
And we talk no more.

You were like an open book to me
But now you’re a hidden treasure
Unfortunately there’s no alibi
For this heart breaking unsaid goodbye.

This unseen protest of mine
Can only be felt by me
Why can’t you listen to me?
I’m shouting your name
Over and over again.

Though the rain has washed away my tears
It is still my biggest fear
Maybe it’s the last time
That I’m calling for you
If you can’t hear me this time
I think it will turn into
An unspoken, unsaid goodbye.

HER HIDDEN FACE

A beautiful face
Decorated with tears
An empty space
Surrounded by fears.

A lonely heart
Injured by dart
An over occupied mind
Struggling with memories left behind.

Eyes full of sorrow
Waiting for tomorrow
A fake smile
Trying to hide a miserable life.

A laughter with friends
Just to show she is growing with trends
Trembling steps
She is afraid, she can collapse.

Still breathing
But ready to be slaughtered
Still alive
Left in tatters.

Lost her track
Can’t go back
What the heck
He has painted her world black.

BLIND WORLD

We’re seeing everything with blind eyes
And judging everyone with closed eyes
We don’t realize the broken dreams
And the path that should be seen.

We listen with deaf ears
Move with an attitude of ‘who cares’
We say only words like ‘I’ and ‘me’
We don’t talk, we chatter.

By saying humans have become animals
Why insulting animals
Humanity is confined only in a few hearts
Is anybody sure to find an ultimate cure?

THE RIGHT WRONGS

Entangled between all the right wrongs
Leaving for a journey that will go on
Can’t see the path ahead
Feeling as if I’m falling in a deep well.

Not able to figure out
What did I do wrong?
Unable to shout aloud
Thinking about all my faults.

Did I judge myself wrong?
It has been so long
I am getting all the time exhausted
Acting like a fake-hearted.

Taste of sugar
It’s getting bitter
And the state of mind
Is getting unsound.

Taken aback by a force
When I was just near the shore
Alas! I have lost my way
Bur it’s not where I’ll stay.

I’ll find it once again
No matter how heavily it rains
I’ll reach there anyhow
This is what I’ve decided now.

YES, I'M WASTING MY TIME

I hear people say,
‘She does nothing
All the time making her mind
To waste more and more of her time.’

But they don’t understand
I drink every drop of life
Till sunset from sunrise.
After that I talk to stars
In the language of bright sparks.

I communicate with air and water
Look from my heart to this wonderful nature.
Although humans have made many obstacles
Oh! I worry for you, dear nature.

I don’t know how to stop
This pace of increasing mob.
They don’t get a single thing
Unaware that their ship is sinking.

O trees! My lovely friends
Victim of this deforesting trend
Last day, I was in school
When you took your last breath.

Dear pigeons, messengers of peace
Inhabitants of those green trees
I know you must have tried hard to save your nest
But you too were killed by those pests.

When I protest, they often ask me
Where have I lost my head?
They tell me to do something else
Other than wasting my time.

But if I’m wasting my time
What are they doing?
Wasting their lives.

I tell them, ‘I won’t give up’
They always tell me to shut up.
Yes, I’m proud to waste my time
It’s up to you
Either waste your time
Or you too choose to waste your life.
