My stepdad said this was the worst story he's ever seen: Story of trials, tribulations, and my glaring inadequacies, plus some zombies. aka The Wonder Team

Day: Tuesday Time: 7:20 Am.
Day one of infection

The last of Mr Alten's first period class shuffled into their seats as the late bell rang monotonously. A low rumble of conversation rolled through the room. Mr. Alten still hadn't showed up, and talk was abuzz with hope that a substitute wouldn't be called. Minutes ticked by as no one appeared in the door.
"Did you think anyone's gonna come?" Rain asked as she finished up her late homework. "Who cares, let's party!" Yelled Alondra from across the room. Everyone relaxed and enjoyed their now free period. Ten minutes passed as conversation grew free and loud. But suddenly, the door swung open. Conversation abruptly cut out as the door creaked. A few people looked at each other in disappointment. Suddenly, Stacey shrieked loudly. Everyone swung around wildly to look at her as she pointed at the door, pale faced and sweating. A green decaying zombie wearing farmer flannel, blue jeans, and a pair of glasses appeared in the doorway, stinking of death and rot.
"Oh my God, is that Mr. Alten?" shouted Morgan in disbelief. Mr. Alten made an inhuman gurgling noise and shambled in the room. The classes erupted in high pitched screams.
"What do we do? oh my god I'm freaking out I'm freaking out!" whimpered Rain as she started hyperventilating. "I WILL PROTECT YOU MY CHILD" yelled Jess as she jumped on Rain's desk. "STOP RIGHT THERE YOU FILTHY BEAST." She yelled at him confidently, staring into the zombified teachers dead unblinking eyes. Mr. Alten stared at her incredulously. He then swiftly knocked her off the desk and ate her.
Panic gripped the survivors of the room. Danielle fainted. Dan tried to see if he could hide on top of the cabinet. There was a huge smash as Bria, in a fit of adrenaline, threw a desk through the window. The Alten zombie perked up from his student breakfast and howled. He started slowly shuffling to the window where Bria stood gripped in terror. Suddenly, a small voice perked up quietly from the back of the room.
"DAN, GET DOWN FROM THE CABINENT AND GIVE ME YOUR HOCKEY STICK!" Dan stopped feebly clamoring up the cabinet and stared at her in confusion. "I don't play hockey, Kat." Kat stopped to think for a second. "Uhm... Lacrosse stick?" Dan glared at her. "You don't even know what sport I play, do you Kat?" Kat held up her hands in resignation "Look buddy, All I'm saying that I just don't know you that well okay?" she then muttered "Maybe if you didn't sleep so much in this class I would know..." Dan still heard her and grew indignant. "Well, excuuuuse me Princess, not everyone is as privileged as you and can get a full night of sleep every night! I'll have you know that I have to slave away at-" Morgan cut through the pairs bickering.
"GUYS THIS REALLY ISNT THE TIME FOR BANTER. WERE RUNNING OUT OF TIME! BRIA'S GOING TO DIE!" Alten zombie was still shuffling across the room, almost one fourth of the way to a horrified frozen Bria. Kat slapped her forehead in frustration. "that's it I'm dealing with this myself." she stomped over to Mr. Alten's desk, picked up the Writers Block, and chucked it at his temple. zombie Alten went down like a ton of bricks, but Kat knew he wouldn't be down for long. She darted out of the room, and couldn't see in the flurry of activity the people who followed her.
They rushed out the door, which Kat slammed shut behind her. "I sure hope they get out of there..." Kat said as she barred the door with a desk, effectively hindering her other classmates only method of easy escape. She turned to find Shannon, Morgan, Dan, Lexi And Rain. Rain shuddered as wild shrieks radiated from in the room. "Are you sure they're gonna be okay, Kat?" Rain whimpered. "Of course they are, Rain." Said Kat convincingly until someone's blood coated the door window. Dan covered her eyes quickly. "It's ketchup Rain just remember it's all ketchup" he cooed to Rain who was having a fit facing the fleeting nature of mortality. "I THINK I NEED TO CALL MY MOM" wailed Lexi, crumpling into Rains baby arms. Kat turned to the others. "So, are we gonna save the day or get out of here and leave the rest of these nerds to deal with this mess?" There was a wave of thoughtful silence, except for Lexi's bitter weeping. "let's leave." The group said in unison. "well glad that's settled let's go-"
"Wait up guys!" A voice yelled from behind them. It was Sarah, running from down the hallway. She skidded to a stop in front of them, heaving to catch her breath. "Sarah?" Questioned Kat. "Hey guys," said Sarah smoothly, trying and failing to cover up her obvious lack of stamina. "How is it going?" "I don't know Sarah, our best teacher turned into a zombie and ate the funniest kid in our class. All and all, regular Tuesday." Said Kat, her voice dripping with sarcasm. Her sneering tone turned to confusion. "Wait, Sarah, how did you get out of the room?" "Oh. Window. No big deal, but its kind of a big deal. Zombie Alten has already moved out of the room after me and is gonna infect the whole world if you guys don't save the day!" Kat stared, doubt painting her face. "How do you know all that?" She said. "Duh, I'm the author of this story! That makes everything I say automatically 100 true. Now get to it heroes! Save the day! The world depends on it! And while you guys fight hoards of zombies and save the planet, I'm gonna get a cheeseburger. See ya!" Before Kat could object, Sarah swung around the corner out of sight. Kat stared off into space trying to process Sarah's words. Sarah peeked around the corner again " Oh, and by the way, Shanae has a bunch of stuff in her locker you might wanna use. Good luck!" Sarah then smashed through the ceiling on Luke Bryan's flying white horse. Silence prevailed over the group.
"What a strange cameo..." Mused Shannon. Kat once again kicked into action. "Shannon, what do you have?" Shannon beamed. "Only my pride and joy!" Shannon kicked open her locker to reveal a huge crossbow with plenty of ammo. "Her name is Baby, and I love her." Shannon cooed, cradling the bow. "Wow," said Rain, extremely impressed. "you can kick your locker open like that, like you don't even need a combination?" Kat cut off her child like wonder. "What else ya got?" Shannon pulled out a couple low caliber handguns, some grenades, and a crowbar. She divvied them out, saving the crowbar for Rain. "Uh, are you sure this is legal to have, Shannon?" Asked Morgan. Shannon scoffed at her. "You know, there are so many kids in this school that do illegal drugs, they should really be cracking down on losers like that instead of worrying about the much lesser problem of sweet sweet weaponry." "That doesn't exactly answer my-" A deep melancholy sigh broke through Morgan's objection.
"Man," started Shannon, staring at a locker covered in pictures. "I sure do miss Ali. I just miss the way she just," Shannon clenched her fist and reminiscenced. "Just... Spoils supernatural for Sarah every week. I love that so much. Even when Sarah says not to she just... Spoils it anyway." She touched the locker, stroking the many printed out faces of ali. "She got me feeling some type of way. We're so bromo together. Too bad she's on vacation though, now I don't get to ride out the apocalypse with her." Morgan patted her on the back. "It's okay shannon, at least she'll be here in spirit!" Shannon cracked a sad smile. "Okay guys, we need to think of team roles." Interrupted Kat, breaking up bonding time. "I would obviously be the brooding stolid leader that laughs in the face of danger but has a deep tragic backstory." The rest of the group glared at her. "hey, don't go all Lord of the Flies on me. I was the one who saved you all, keep that in mind." Dan scowled. "yeah, cuz we totally didn't just follow you out." Kat continued on as if he was mute. "And you, Dathaniel, are my foil, the crass emotional detriment to the group who does nothing but act hastily on their emotions and get everyone upset over nothing." Dan crossed his arms and said nothing. "Shannon is obviously the weapons guy, Lexi is the emotional wreck," Lexi cut her off with a sob. "I NEVER EVEN GOT TO GO TO SHEEEEEAS" she cried. Kat continued "and Rain is the small traumatized child that's overly wise for her age and is good for getting into tight spaces. Duh. Haven't any of you played the Walking Dead before?" Dan rolled his eyes. "I think text based action adventure games are tedious..." He muttered. "Shut your mouth, Kenny." Kat snapped. "What about me?" Asked Morgan. Kat mulled it over for a while. "You can... Be the person who dies first?" "I'm not sure my life insurance policy covers zombie attacks, Kat." Kat grunted. "Well, you could be the level headed caring one who has a kind heart, a sharp intuition, and always knows the right choices in a situation?" Morgan thought for a moment. "Yeah that sounds like me."  She peeked over Kats small shoulder. "In fact, I think I'm having a moment of inspiration right now. Dan's just stolen Rain's crowbar." Kat whipped around to see Dan hurdle over Lexi, hunched in the fetal position on the ground, and skid to a stop in front of a suspicious door that had loud spooky moans and bangs coming from the room it contained. Dan laughed in triumph. "I finally have you right were I want you! For so long I have sat through that creative writing class, listening to you gosh darn girls talking about your feelings and your periods and boys! I couldn't take the pain anymore! So instead of sleeping at night, I started plotting my evil scheme!" A deafening wooden snap made everyone jump. Dan had struck the door with the crowbar. "I would turn Mr. Alten into a zombie, killing you all, and I would be victorious at last! But of course Katherine and her wonder team " he gestured to Morgan, Rain, and Lexi crying behind a stern looking Kat and a Shannon who was still staring at Ali's locker and sneered. "had to spoil my well crafted plan. But now you are toast!" He slammed the crowbar into the door again on the word of the horrifying breakfast item. "Toast I tell you! And when my very well thought out and super great plan that I just thought of works and the zombies I created rip you to shreds, I will rejoice on your dead bodies, because I never have to hear you talk about how hot fictional characters from Lord of The Rings are ever again! Ahahahahaha!" The crazed Danthaniel cackled evilly as the stunned wonder team gaped in hatred and fear. he struck the door one last time. The flimsy door had broken in half from Dan's beating, and dozens of moaning and groaning zombies poured from the doorway. Dan, realizing the fatal flaw in his vEERY well thought out and SUPER GREEEAT plan, shrieked his final shriek as his zombies overtook him. Everyone stood stock still. " I don't have enough ammo for all of them..." Whispered Shannon. Kat sighed. "you know what, I'm done, this isn't our problem. Let's go get a cheeseburger. Forget the world." Everyone looked at each other and shrugged. "Yeeeah. Let's go." Said Rain. The wonder team ran through the soon to be infested hallways, hoping Johnny Rockets was open this early in the morning.
