Ancient Ruins of Time
Beneath the ancient ruins of time
The early dawn that steals silence
Luring the naïve and gentle to become its pray
Do such rules apply to the youth of beauty and love
Engaging in delightful play
Never ceasing for another seconds thought
Risking the innocence of joy together
Curious as the cat which meows
Calling forth the temptations that bring
Mischievous adventures that fulfill the soul
Chasing rivers to the beginning
Running from the slow turning wheel of time
The young, juvenile and free
Radiant they are, taken they’ll be
The ruins are waiting, ancient and wise
Old as they come, as the wind that blows
Stealing body’s youth when the chance arise
Leaving innocent souls to fend of temptations
But temptation is too devious for the naive
Thus the soul drifts away,
Searching in the starry night,
In the moon reflected waters of the sea
Teasing and testing time, for body’s never last but time never dies
Its prison waits in quiet desperation
Seeking the veil of beauty
Waiting in the shadow as they pass by
