Leah

A Battle Lost for Love

She walked upon the many hills of grass
Unaware of her fragility
Brave or naïve;
As she walks unarmed through the night
Searching and longing while disregarding all duty
Reckless as the mighty winds that fight against her
Driven with madness for the love of a man
Such as a drunken fool for desire
While the people sleep, she dreams
Broken free from logic she releases her responsibility to the raging sea
Devoured by the taste of a kiss
Her country will turn against her and war will break
A battle to be lost for a woman made a dreamer
Her power fades into the swirls of dawn
Though she fights with kindness;
She is killed for her lust of love
Misunderstood far too great to reconcile
The damage too much to bear
Within her shaken hands she has broken so many things
Her crown, her people, her land of chaos & beauty
All for the dreams to have her freedom to love
