Derrick Andrews

Drone.

I've tempted fires and braved the blaze,
But I can't fight your soul-less gaze.
Those hurt filled eyes, that empty smile,
They reek of lies and faint beguile.
I could not face your empty eyes.
And so I fled, took to the skies.
But there I only found more pain.
A higher view of my disdain.
I'd rip your heart out, vein by vein.
To make my smile whole again.
But nothing I could do will hide.
The emptiness I feel inside.
You forced my hand, I drove the blade,
I cast you into joyless shade.
And now I sit here, all alone.
Dead inside, a mindless drone.
