TARANTULAS

thick and silky blankets of webs they weave,
they look beautiful - but looks do deceive.
it entices you to touch it, so you finally give in,
that temptation was deadly - you will not win!

you have been seen from far away,
they're not worried because they know you'll stay.
they've been waiting for someone like you for quite awhile,
too bad they really don't have a face - they'd have a big smile.

the tarantulas are coming to greet you - they want you to stay for dinner,
soon they'll be on you - and they'll know they have a real winner.
you'll be tasty, delicious - a real treat,
later you'll be their desert, so they'll keep you wrapped up from your head to your feet.

tarantulas can't help it, that they're big, fuzzy, and eerie,
it's not really their fault that people are afraid of them - and they look dreary.
some are really pretty - black and yellow, black and orange, and black and red,
i know - you still think they look better dead.

i feel sorry for them because people kill them out of fear,
people don't understand them, and they don't want tarantulas near.
i'm one of those people who are really afraid,
i do try to be sympathetic - but if i see one, i'll probably run for the can of raid!
