The Spider and the Swan - One

There was once a beautiful princess. Her voice was like spun silver and when you looked into her eyes, you felt as though anything were possible. But as beautiful as she was, she was reclusive and lonely, and did not meet many other people. One day, she was sitting quietly by herself in the forest when a prince rode by. He was captivated by her, and sat beside her. He told her many things. When he leaned across and kissed her, time stopped for a second. The princess blushed. She had no words for the prince, so she held him tight instead. He took the words she had not spoken and buried them inside himself. They turned into diamonds which sparkled like stars, even after he and the princess became old and died. One day, many years later, a little girl found the diamonds. She held them in her hands, and they turned into butterflies that fluttered out of the forest and into the blue of the night sky where they remained forever.
