Willow Worship

Willow Worship

Early evening raindrops deftly land and splatter
A robin bird and squirrel bicker over crumbs that matter
A Willow tree stands proud, a simple subtle serenity
A mature, elegant lady, a true matriarch, indubitably!

Willow, you are so beautiful, vibrant and strong
Whistling winds screech through leaves as a sirens shrill song
Down below your leaf blades caress a flowing freshwater stream
Animals are lulled to sleep here - as in a magician's melodic dream.

Your verdant umbrella affords a handy haven -
Copious, thick foliage constitutes a natural curtain.
Canopied inhabitants listen here to the hum of the bees
A cosy cache where our country cousin friends feel at ease

I thank you wholeheartedly, my favourite tree
For making me appreciate nature and trees such as thee.

Great poem. I love the truth about life symbolized by the willow. The imagery and word choice, both stellar. Keep up the great work. Thank you for sharing. Peace Love Humanity Forever Gregory
