FORGOTTEN MEMORIES

So many things went by
As the time passed by
We moved to different directions
In search of our perfections.

I moved a step ahead
You left my one hand
You took a next step
I left your other hand.

In this way we moved along
Looking for our own song
Never realized what we did
We planted that magic seed.

By the time a plant came out
We had already broken up
It was waiting for its owner
We had lost our phone numbers.

Every time our phones ring
All the empty calls we pick
We look at that snapshot
And cry for the broken pot.

Somewhere in the middle
Comes the life’s riddle
We pretend to be pleased
Our emotions remain unreleased.

Never thought the way it would be
Always imagined how it should be
Walking with heavy eyes
And a heart full cries.

Anyhow we accommodate a fake smile
On our faces that goes on for a while
Returning to those days in mind
We forget all the pain inside.

We still want to see
Our hearts to be free
Yet waiting for one another
Apologies that come one after the other.

Some things remain incomplete
No matter how long it has been
Or someday they might get complete
No matter how far you’ve been.
